January 28th, 2011

There are pretty little snowflakes falling today and the sun has been popping in and out.  Kyle and I will head outside later today to do something but I haven’t decided what yet – maybe some snowshoeing or a short snowmobile trip.  I have been wanting to get some winter pictures and haven’t had a chance yet so we will work that in too.

Have you heard about the Skacel yarn KAL (Knit A Long)?  This KAL is in conjuction with Skacels’ celebration of 20 years of Trekking yarn.  There are 6 projects (1 per month) starting with January and ending in June.  These are one skein projects featuring a Skacel Trekking yarn.  The projects are kind of a mystery series also since a set of instructions is released each week.  We are stocking the yarns for these projects in the shop.  The January and February yarns are here now and the March yarn should be here next week.  There are lots of great prizes being given away weekly plus a grand prize.  Want to know more about the contest and projects?  Visit this website for all the details:

Visit us to pick up your yarn or give us a call, we will mail it to you!

Vicki has started on the January sock and here it is so far.  (Note this picture was taken a few days ago, she has progressed beyond this and into the foot.)

We will be making quilts for the Whitefish Township Ambulance on Mon. Jan. 31st.  No experience in sewing or quilting needed- all skill levels are welcome.  There is a job for everyone!  I don’t have the official number in front of me but we have been able to donate over 300 quilts to this organization with the help of the some very wonderful and special volunteers.  We start at 10am and stop for a pot luck lunch around 12pm.  Bring a dish to pass and come join the fun.

I am working on the February class schedule and will have it posted on the website on February 1st.

Have a great weekend!

Till next time – happy crafting!

Lisa 🙂
