‘Tis the season to be jolly….fa la la la la la la.

So I noticed, as I was traversing the web today headed to to write the blog, that Pantone has announced “THE COLOR” for 2011.  Honeysuckle.  This chosen hue is “a captivating, stimulating color that gets the adrenaline going.”  I know, I know you are asking what exactly is honeysuckle because that is exactly what Vicki asked me.   Honeysuckle is a pinkish kind of color such as this:

The Winter Carnival of Classes is coming up quickly.  We offer these classes between Christmas and New Year’s and this year they will be held Mon. December 27th – Thurs. December 30th.

Come join us for these fun “make- it-take-it” classes. A different class will be offered each day. Class fees include all instruction, patterns, supplies, use of our tools and sewing machines. Bring your enthusiasm, be ready to have a good time and go home with your finished project – it’s that easy. Children under 18 years old are welcome to take classes too, but only if accompanied by an adult. These classes are appropriate for all skill levels including beginners.   Pre-registration is suggested and appreciated, but not required. All Classes will start at 1:00pm and will last approximately 2-4 hours.


The classes offered this year are as follows:

Monday:  Fun with PaintstiksDesign and decorate a ready made apron using Paintstiks. Paintstiks are an oil based paint that is non- toxic, safe for fabric and permenent. They come in a multitude of colors and anyone can do it! Aprons are full length, over the head style with lots of room for decorating. Learn techniques for working with the Paintstiks, stencils, rubbing plates and more. Class fee $23.00

Tuesday: Zesty Zippered Pouches – These little zipper pouches will keep your small items tidy and neat. Use it for cash, cards, coins or keep your eye glasses safe. Zippers are no big deal with this easy method of zipper installation. Choose from one of these two sizes: 3 ½ ” X 5 ½ ” or 3 ½ ” X 7 ½ ”. The pattern is yours to keep and you’ll find you will be making many more when a “little something” is just the right gift. Class fee: $20.00

Wednesday: Garden Flower Pins –  Unique and fun these flower pins are made from zippers! You will make one flower in class and take home the pattern and zippers to create more beautiful flower pins. Pattern includes 7 different designs and they measure 2 -3” in diameter. These pins are great accent pieces for sweaters, blouses, coats and more!  Class fee: $25.00

Thursday: 1/2 & 1/2 Apron– This darling apron is quick, easy and so much fun! We have a multitude of color coordinated kits available from which you can choose; no worries about picking fabrics and you can get right to the sewing! The apron has contrast trim, front pocket and ties around the waist. Makes a great gift or keep it for yourself.  This is a very versatile pattern that you will use again and again. Class fee: $22.00
